Yogic Suksma Vyayama Practice

Posture: Stand with your feet together, keeping your body upright and eyes gently closed. Fold your hands so that your thumbs rest lightly on the throat cavity (the sternal notch), while your forearms press against your chest.

Exercise: Direct your mind toward the Supreme Being. Once you achieve this focused state of mental concentration, ease the pressure of your palms and forearms. Until this focus is attained, continue maintaining firm pressure against your chest. In Yogi tradition, this exercise is believed to act on the Manovaha nerve, assisting in the sublimation of sexual energy and enhancing one’s concentration abilities by aligning with one’s inner self.

It is said that Lord Buddha, following the guidance of an unknown saint, reached a state of perfect peace through this very practice while meditating beneath the Bodhi tree. This exercise is believed to have granted him the strength to overcome worldly desires and achieve enlightenment.
