10 Hours – Art of Adjustment & Asana Alignment Courses in Bangalore India
This unique hands-on course is designed for new and experienced teachers to increase mastery of yoga adjustments and alignments. In addition to asana practice, learning the art of adjusting postures brings us closer to reaching Patanjali’s description of what the asana is meant to be. Knowledge of asana adjustments is beneficial for improving your personal practice and is a fundamental part of being an exceptional yoga teacher.
Skilled adjustments take place on various different levels, including the physical, energetic, and mental levels. We focus on developing an awareness and intelligence that addresses individual bodies in a wide variety of asanas that will improve your teaching and deepen your own practice.
Safe and smart adjustments begin with having experience in the pose itself to experience and better understand the intention and quality of the posture.
Knowledge of the body structure is also important to the art of adjusting. As well as practicing observation of the body to cultivate body awareness, our workshops cover the anatomy and physiology of the body. This helps us further our understanding of the body within each posture, specifically where it is restricted, where there is potential for injury, and where it can continue further. Common alignment issues will also be addressed. While many yoga studios are moving away from hands-on adjustments due to liability concerns, Karuna Yoga believes that adjustments are integral to deepening a student’s practice and teaching. This intensive course covers the safest and most effective ways to adjust students in order for them to achieve the full benefits of the postures.

About the course facilitator
Dr. S. Karuna Murthy is one of the most experienced Yogi practicing the ancient and the greatest Yoga tradition since he was 18 years of age. Following in the footsteps of his inspiration Swami Sivananda who was also the founder of Divine Life Society, has mastered the ancient Yoga traditions that only a few in this world are familiar with.
He completed M. Sc from Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samasthana University and Ph. D from Bharathidasan University. Besides, Dr. S. Karuna Murthy has also completed TTC and ATTC and is registered E-RYT-500 with American Yoga Alliance. Those qualifications depict his expertise in the context of Yoga and mastering Yoga Teaching methodology.
With the immense interest to serve the people with the ancient Yoga techniques, he also served as a Yoga therapist at S-VYASA, Bangalore. He has also served as a Yoga lecturer at Bharathidasan University and at overseas in the Cali Wow fitness Center.
With these impressive accomplishments, throughout his journey to being a master Yogi and an expert in Multi styles of Yoga, Dr. Karuna Murthy has developed an incredible scientific view of every Yoga practice. So, now he is a rare expert in Yoga anatomy physiology, biomechanism kinesiology, and Yoga philosophy.
