1.Who is this course best suited for?

The course is for anyone who is a yoga student, practitioner, or teacher or someone who is interested in learning about safe and effective chair yoga practice.

2. Are there any pre-requisites or required reading?

There are no pre-requisites for this course. T

3. Do participants need to be 200hr graduates or yoga teachers, or is this open to any practitioner of yoga?

You do not need to have completed a 200 hr Yoga Teacher Training to enroll in this course. The course is open to anyone. We will explore various yoga practices in the chair.

4. Will there be asana practice? What are some of the requirements for the space in terms of technology etc?

There will be an asana practice each week. These practices will always be offered seated in a chair. You will need various props, a computer or tablet and Internet connection to watch the pre-recorded videos.

5. Need of online class How does it work?

  • Upon enrolment you’ll gain access to your online portal, which includes some introductory details, course schedule and session outlines, and the link to access the live online training sessions.
  • All live training sessions will be offered through Zoho Meeting, a videoconferencing application. You can watch and interact on your phone, tablet, or computer.
  • All sessions will be live-captioned and available for replay after the session, for 1 year.
  • Once you have reviewed all the content, you will self-certify that you’ve completed the course requirements. Then you’ll receive a PDF certificate stating that you completed the online course.

6. Do I need special equipment or software for this training?

You will get the most out of the training if you attend via Zoom or Zoho meeting  on a desktop computer with a webcam and microphone. However, you are welcome to watch and participate on your phone, tablet, or other internet-connected device. Appearing on video or speaking on the mic is not required for course participants.

We recommend having access to the following yoga props for the practical components of this online course:

  • 2 sturdy chairs (at least one without arms)
  • 2 blankets
  • 1 bolster (or firm pillow)
  • 1 yoga strap (or belt)
  • 2 yoga blocks (or large books)
  • A designated practice space

7. Can I share videos or materials with other people outside of the course?

The videos and materials are for your personal use. We ask that you don’t share them with anyone who hasn’t enrolled in the course.

8. How long will I have access to the course materials?

You will have access to the student portal, including captioned recordings of all live sessions, for 1 year.

9. Can I get CEUs?

Yes. Eligible yoga teachers will earn CEUs through Yoga Alliance. Upon completion of the course requirements, you will receive a downloadable certificate you can submit for credit.
