Posture: Stand upright with your feet together and your body straight. Position your arms by your sides with the palms turned inward.

Exercise: Begin by inhaling deeply through your nose while bending backward from the waist as far as you comfortably can. Simultaneously, raise your arms behind you as high as possible. Hold this position for as long as you can manage, then exhale slowly and return to the starting posture. Start with five repetitions.

Benefits: This exercise provides similar advantages to the vakshasthala-sakti vikasaka asana, with added benefits. It strengthens and revitalizes both the chest and the back while also toning the arms. Those with a lean physique may notice a healthier build as their protruding bones become covered with muscle over time. Consistent practice of this exercise helps maintain a straight and strong back throughout one’s life.
