Yin yoga sequence that targets the urinary bladder meridian

  1. Butterfly Pose: Sit on the floor with the soles of your feet together, knees bent out to the sides. Fold forward, bringing your forehead towards your feet, and stay in this pose for 3-5 minutes, feeling a stretch in your hips and inner thighs.
  • Caterpillar Pose: Extend your legs straight out in front of you and fold forward, reaching your hands towards your feet or using props for support. Stay in this pose for 3-5 minutes, feeling a stretch in your hamstrings and lower back.
  • Dragon Pose: Come onto your hands and knees and step your right foot forward between your hands. Lower your left knee to the floor and slide your right foot forward, bringing your right shin parallel to the front of the mat. Stay in this pose for 2-3 minutes, feeling a stretch in your hips and groin. Repeat on the other side.
  • Sphinx Pose: Lie on your belly and prop yourself up on your elbows. Stay in this pose for 2-3 minutes, feeling a stretch in your lower back and kidneys.
  • Seated Forward Fold: Sit with your legs extended straight out in front of you and fold forward, reaching your hands towards your feet or using props for support. Stay in this pose for 3-5 minutes, feeling a stretch in your hamstrings and lower back.
  • Twisted Root Pose: Sit with your legs crossed and bring your right foot to the outside of your left hip. Place your left elbow on your right knee and twist to the right, looking over your right shoulder. Stay in this pose for 2-3 minutes, feeling a stretch in your hips and lower back. Repeat on the other side.

These Yin yoga poses can help release tension in the urinary bladder meridian, which can support the urinary system’s function of eliminating waste and regulating fluid balance in the body. Remember to breathe deeply and hold each pose for a few minutes, allowing your body to relax and release tension.
