Chandra Bhedana Pranayama (Left Nostril Breathing)
Chandra Bhedana Pranayama is a cooling yogic breathing technique that activates the Ida Nadi (Moon Channel), which is associated with the parasympathetic nervous system, calmness, and mental relaxation.
  • Chandra= Moon (Cool, Soothing Energy)
  • Bhedana= Piercing or passing through
  • Pranayama= Breath control
By inhaling through the left nostril and exhaling through the right nostril, Chandra Bhedana promotes cooling, relaxation, and emotional balance.
🔹 Steps to Perform Chandra Bhedana Pranayama
Preparation:
✔️ Sit comfortably in Padmasana (Lotus Pose) or Sukhasana (Easy Pose)
✔️ Keep your back straight and hands in Chin Mudra
✔️ Close your eyes and relax your breath
Technique:
1️⃣ Close your right nostril with your right thumb (using Vishnu Mudra)
2️⃣ Inhale slowly and deeply through the left nostril
3️⃣ Close your left nostril with your ring finger
4️⃣ Exhale slowly and completely through the right nostril
5️⃣ Repeat this process for 5-10 minutes
💨 Breathing Ratio: 1:2 (If you inhale for 4 seconds, exhale for 8 seconds)
🌙 Best Time to Practice:
  • Early morning or before bedtime
  • During hot weather or when feeling stressed
