Who is Yoga Vasistha?
Yoga Vasistha is a spiritual text in the Hindu tradition, attributed to the sage Valmiki. It is a dialogue between the sage Vasistha and his disciple, Prince Rama, in which Vasistha teaches Rama the nature of reality and the path to liberation. The text is composed of over 29,000 verses and is considered one of the longest and most profound works on Advaita Vedanta, a non-dualistic philosophy that emphasizes the unity of the individual soul (Atman) and the ultimate reality (Brahman). The Yoga Vasistha is also known for its detailed descriptions of various yogic practices, such as meditation, pranayama, and asanas. It is considered a foundational text of Yoga philosophy and is widely studied and revered by Yoga practitioners and scholars.
