What is Treta Yuga?
Treta Yuga is the second Yuga or age in the Hindu cycle of time known as the “Yuga cycle.” It is believed to have lasted for 1,296,000 years and is said to be marked by the advent of Lord Rama, the seventh avatar of Lord Vishnu. In Treta Yuga, human beings were more advanced in their knowledge and spirituality than in the previous Satya Yuga. It is believed that people in Treta Yuga lived for thousands of years, were virtuous and followed Dharma, and had access to advanced technologies and knowledge of the Vedas. The end of Treta Yuga is marked by the beginning of the Dwapara Yuga.
