In Yoga philosophy, Pancha Kosa refers to the five sheaths or layers of existence that encase the true self or Atman. The five koshas are:

Annamaya Kosha (Physical Sheath): The physical sheath is the outermost layer and relates to the physical body. It is composed of the five elements: earth, water, fire, air, and ether. This layer governs our senses, desires, and physical experiences.

Pranamaya Kosha (Energy Sheath): The pranic sheath or energy body governs the vital force of the body, also known as Prana. It is responsible for maintaining the balance of the physical body, including breath, circulation, and digestion.

Manomaya Kosha (Mental Sheath): This layer governs the mind and emotions. It is responsible for mental processes, such as thinking, reasoning, and emotions.

Vijnanamaya Kosha (Wisdom Sheath): The wisdom sheath is responsible for our higher consciousness and intuition. It is the layer where we experience the connection between the physical and spiritual realms.

Anandamaya Kosha (Bliss Sheath): The bliss sheath is the innermost layer of existence and is responsible for our spiritual connection. It is the layer where we experience joy, happiness, and contentment.

The goal of yoga practice is to move inward, through these layers, from the outermost physical sheath to the innermost layer of bliss. Through this journey, one can discover the true self or Atman, and achieve a state of inner peace and harmony.
