What is Manipura Chakra?
- Manipura Chakra is the third primary chakra in the human body, according to Hindu tradition. It is also known as the solar plexus chakra, as it is located in the area behind the navel and in front of the spine, in the solar plexus region. The word “Manipura” is derived from two Sanskrit words: “mani,” meaning “jewel,” and “pura,” meaning “city.”
- The Manipura Chakra is associated with personal power, self-esteem, and confidence. It is believed to be the center of energy responsible for vitality, willpower, and motivation. When this chakra is balanced, a person feels confident, decisive, and in control of their life. When it is blocked or out of balance, a person may feel a lack of confidence, self-doubt, and may struggle to make decisions.
- In yoga and other spiritual practices, there are various techniques and exercises that are used to activate and balance the Manipura Chakra. These include specific yoga poses, such as boat pose and bow pose, as well as pranayama (breathing exercises), meditation, and visualization. Additionally, certain foods, colors, and gemstones are believed to be beneficial for this chakra, such as yellow-colored foods, like bananas and turmeric, and gemstones like citrine and yellow topaz.
