 Paramahansa Yogananda life history and his teachings

Paramahansa Yogananda (1893-1952) was an Indian yogi and spiritual teacher who is best known for his book “Autobiography of a Yogi,” which is considered a classic in the field of spiritual literature. He was born in Gorakhpur, India, and began his spiritual studies at a young age.

In 1920, Yogananda travelled to the United States and established the Self-Realization Fellowship (SRF), a spiritual organization dedicated to the teachings of yoga and meditation. Yogananda’s teachings emphasized the importance of direct experience of the divine, and he taught that the ultimate goal of spiritual practice is the realization of the oneness of all existence.

Yogananda’s teachings also emphasized the importance of developing a personal relationship with God through the practice of meditation and devotional practices such as chanting and prayer.
