Kunjal Kriya or Vamana Dhauti: Procedure and Benefits
Kunjal Kriya and Vamana Dhauti are two cleansing techniques in yoga that involve the purging of the stomach contents through the mouth. Both are beneficial for digestive health and can help to detoxify the body.
Kunjal Kriya:
Procedure:
- Drink 6-8 glasses of warm saline water (2 teaspoons of salt in one liter of water) on an empty stomach.
- Stand with your feet apart and knees slightly bent.
- Lean forward and place your fingers at the back of your throat to trigger the gag reflex.
- Gently expel the water and mucus from your stomach through the mouth.
- Repeat the process 3-4 times until you feel a sense of relief.
