4.34. Purusarthasunyanam gunanam pratiprasavah kaivalyam svarupapratistha va chitisakteriti|

Kaivalya is the involution of the gunas because of the fulfilment of their objectives or it is the restoration of the purusha to its inherent form which is called pure consciousness.
